Managing Your Documents with the SearchPro Search Server
Upon setup, the Dell PowerEdge R200 document server is configured for you to immediately begin uploading your documents. Most simply, documents can be transferred via FTP. However, you are also provided with full Remote Desktop access, allowing you to setup your Windows folder and file structure for easy management of your document repository.
The Google Mini provides a simple web-based Administrative interface, that can be used to setup and configure your search functionality within a matter of minutes. The integrated hardware and software solution will begin to crawl and index the documents in your collection to return search results.
The Google Mini can be configured to perform a re-crawl of your documents at a period you wish, or continuously, providing a simplified process for ensuring that new documents appear in search results. Once the Google Mini is setup, you generally do not need to perform any ongoing system management or maintenance tasks.
Hardware Management
Alentus fully manages and maintains the hardware for your SearchPro R200 bundle. Should anything go wrong with any of the hardware, we will repair or replace it with no extra charges to you whatsoever.
Available Document Storage Space
By default, you will have approximately 230GB of disk space available. The Dell PowerEdge R200 document server is highly customizable and should you wish to increase disk space, please contact our Server Solutions Experts for more options.
Document Backups
To ensure in the event of a catastrophic hardware failure that your documents are still available, the SearchPro R200 document server comes with an introductory 10GB of SecureStor Backup space. Additional space can be added as required.
Accessing Search Results
Users can access search results at a URL that is provided through the Google Mini. The HTML code that is provided allows you to add a search box to the web pages within your website or dedicated document search portal, returning the search results integrated with the Google Mini. An example of this type of search can be found via our Alentus.com search results at: http://google.alentus.com.
User Search Interface
The Google Mini provides one user interface that can be configured to accommodate the desired look and feel for your organization. The Google Mini can also be configured to crawl and index sub-collections, allowing you to customize the search results for each sub-collection. However the user interface will remain the same. As an alternative the Google Mini also has the capabilities of returning results as XML, which can be configured for a desired user interface on an web server external to the Google Mini.
